This will be our first cruise in August 2011. We will be going on the Disney Dream on the 5 day cruise to the Bahamas. My question is how do we dress for dinner? Is it casual? Also we are bringing my grandson who is 8, I am told he does not need a passpo

    Hi, Pam!

Are you getting excited about your summer cruise aboard the new Disney Dream? Having just stepped off the ship, I can confidently report to you that she and her cast and crew are ready to entertain and pamper you on your journey!

On any Disney Cruise Line ship, most evenings are considered "cruise casual" -- no shorts, jeans, flip-flops or t-shirts. There is one tropical/pirate deck party for which costumes, accessories and more casual clothes are encouraged.  And then, there is one dressier night which can include a jacket for gentlemen and a dress for ladies.  Those dress suggestions are for the three dining restaurants at night, but there are other options for dinner including counter-service near the pools and Cabanas on Deck 11, Aft. (Plus, there's always room service!) The adult-only restaurants Palo and Remy are jacket required for gentlemen and dress/pant suit for women.

As far as passports are concerned, it is strongly suggested that each guest hold a valid passport from their country of origin. However, at the present time, the Bahamas will still allow proof of US citizenship with a certified copy of a US birth certificate.  Of course, guardians must present a government-issued ID with a photo, too. Plus, you may need to carry a Minor Authorization Form which gives you permission to be his guardian on this trip should his parents not accompany you.

I hope this helps you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
