We have our first bigger family vacation with my nieces this September! We are staying at the Riviera. Is there any way to surprise them by having a Riviera Minnie and Daisy plush waiting in the room for them?

Well hello there Karinna and welcome back to planDisney!

Making the leap from having your own Disney getaways to bigger family trips together can definitely be an experience that creates a whole batch of new core memories, especially as it sounds like you're keen on making this as magical as possible for your nieces! As a certified Duncle (Disney Uncle) myself, being able to plan these special surprises for these younglings that capture our hearts is something my husband and I love, so I'm happy to help lend a hand with the following tips:

    • During our recent stay at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as Disney Vacation Club Members, we wanted to make sure that certain items would be waiting for us in our room that we had been expecting that had been sent to the Resort Hotel in advance. We were able to do this by placing a call to Member Services and the dedicated Cast Members were able to make a little magic and have it ready for us upon our arrival. (It's important to note that there is no guarantee that this may be something they'll be able to do on the date of your arrival, so it's always good to have a back-up plan in case they can't.)
    • When we recently wanted to drop off a surprise present to a friend staying at a neighboring resort, it was as simple as bringing the items to the Front Desk Services Cast Members in a bag labelled with the name of the lead guest on the reservation. This means that you can quickly pop over from La Boutique if you manage to secretly snag that pair of plush - Poetess Minnie Mouse and the graceful Dancer Daisy Duck - and make a special request to have it delivered directly to their room.

Be aware that policies are always subject to change without prior notice and that Cast Members may say that they require the guest to be present in their room upon delivery or that they are required to pick up the items directly at the Front Desk, similar to the current situation with in-room gifts ordered through Magical Floral and Gifts at Walt Disney World Resort. However in our experience, friends and family were able to deliver presents to our room ahead of our Disney Fairy Tale Wedding this year by dropping them off and coordinating with the Housekeeping and Bell Services team and tipping generously to make sure that it happened; though never guaranteed, I've always found that friendly Cast Members have always been happy to help make magic when it involves a special surprise.

Another option you might want to consider is to present these plush friends to them during breakfast at Topolino's Terrace; it could make for some really fun photos with their life-size counterparts who will very likely be delighted to see them as well! We can't wait for you to come back to planDisney again for more of our tips, tricks and advice Karinna!
