Can you see the fireworks from a club level room at the contemporary with a “bay view”? Or does it have to be a theme park view?

    Hi there, Wendy!

Thanks so much for coming to planDisney with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! Let’s talk about those magical fireworks and your stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

If you’re booked in a Club Level room with a Water View, you are going to have a view of Bay Lake, and your chances of seeing Happily Ever After are slim. The Water View rooms face Bay Lake, so the Magic Kingdom and those spectacular fireworks won’t be in your direct line of sight. Now, never say never—Disney miracles do happen—but for a guaranteed view, you’ll want to go with a Theme Park View room.

But Hakuna Matata, even if you don’t have that perfect view from your room, there are some fantastic spots just steps away:

    • 4th Floor Balcony at the Contemporary Resort: This public viewing deck offers a great vantage point, and they even pipe in the music from Happily Ever After to make the experience even more magical.
    • California Grill Rooftop Deck: Dining at California Grill? Lucky you! With a reservation, or even just enjoying a meal at the bar, you’ll have access to the rooftop deck, which offers a truly breathtaking view of the fireworks. Viewing the show with my classmates from 2024 was an experience I will never forget!
    • The beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: If you venture over to the Polynesian, you can watch the fireworks from the beach, with Seven Seas Lagoon in the foreground and the music filling the air. (Pro tip: grab a DOLE Whip from Pineapple Lanai to enjoy while you watch!)
    • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Just outside Gasparilla Island Grill is another fantastic spot where you can enjoy the show with the music piped in, making you feel like you’re right there in the park. Also, much like California Grill, if you have a reservation at Narcoossee’s, you can hop up from your table and head outside to catch the show.

So, while your Water View room might not offer the perfect view of Happily Ever After, you’ve got plenty of other options to soak in the magic. I hope this helps you have a fantastic stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If you want any other suggestions or recommendations, let me know. I’ve been known to enjoy an order (or two) of Steakhouse 71 Onion Rings on my stays at the Contemporary, and love to resort hop on the monorail, so I would be happy to share some more intel so you have the most memorable visit to The Most Magical Place On Earth!

    See you real soon,
    Brent
