Hello there, Jaynee! Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney to ask your question.
I absolutely love how
accessible Walt Disney World makes things for all Guests! A few years ago, my daughter broke her foot and was in a wheelchair for a few of our vacations there and I was amazed at just how easy it was to get around, on and off attractions and find viewing spots for parades and fireworks. Disney does really think of everything!
I think you'll be happy to know that there are, indeed, still designated wheelchair and electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) viewing spots for the fireworks. These areas are on a first-come, first-serve basis so I do recommend showing up early as these spaces are limited. Disney is all about making memories together whether you are with family or friends and because of that your party is allowed in those viewing areas as well. However, parties of 6 or more may be asked to split up to allow more room for wheelchairs and ECVs to enter the viewing areas.
There is a great page on the Walt Disney World website (that I am
linking here for you) that breaks down almost everything you need to know about visiting Walt Disney World with a Guest who has mobility issues. There's a list of attractions they'll be able to enjoy in their wheelchair/ECV, a list that shows which attractions they'll have to transfer out of their wheelchair/EVC, how transportation works and so much more. It's a great resource to explore before your vacation next spring.
I hope this helps, Jaynee. If you have any other questions while you plan your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and happy planning!
