Are there still firework shows at night right now?

    Hi there, Nam!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I am over-the-top, enthusiastically, outrageously, and extraordinarily ELATED to tell you that just this morning there was an announcement that FIREWORKS ARE COMING BACK to Walt Disney World Resort!

Since the unforeseen shutdown of the Walt Disney World theme parks in 2020 due to the pandemic, the skies over Cinderella Castle have remained dark, with no nightly firework shows for Guests to enjoy. Fireworks have been a long-beloved tradition in Magic Kingdom Park since 1957, and as a big-time firework fan, I've missed them terribly! The good news is...fireworks will be back SOON!

Starting July 1, the night skies over Magic Kingdom Park will once again be filled with colorful bursts of pyrotechnic awesomeness during the Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular. Not only that, fireworks will also be returning to Epcot as Epcot Forever is once again back to dazzle Guests over World Showcase Lagoon. Slowly but surely, all the magical things that make Walt Disney World so special are returning to thrill Guests young and old. It truly is The Most Magical Place on Earth, and nightly fireworks are definitely one of the most awe-inspiring, memorable parts of a Disney vacation.

I can't wait to get back to Walt Disney World Resort this summer and experience the fireworks in person. I hope you'll soon be planning a summer getaway to do the same! Please come back and visit us here at planDisney before your next Walt Disney World vacation - we love sharing tips and advice to help add a little bit of extra magic and pixie dust to your trip.
