Howdy, Shellain! Our family loves our
MagicBands, too! Our family of four loves the ease of navigating the parks with our one device. When traveling with my son, he’s visited the parks with my husband, my mom, and myself, all helping him to log in.
During our first family trip, I used my fingerprint to scan my then 3-year-old into the parks. As he has gotten older, we’ve encountered the same issue as you: changing the fingerprint associated with the band. As my son grew to be four and then five, we approached the turnstiles to scan our
Park tickets and mention this to the Cast Member present. Using the iPad-like device, they would sign my son in, and change the fingerprint associated with the account. Now that he is almost six, he’s old enough to sign in with minimal supervision and use his own fingerprint. It took a little training to show him how to hold his finger still at first, and to learn exactly when to place it on the glass, but it only took once or twice for him to get it. Depending on your daughter’s age, you can associate her fingerprint with her MagicBand and help her place it on the glass. Then, during your trip, you can easily swap taking her early to breakfast in the Parks, or later to see fireworks over
Cinderella Castle.
If, ever during your travels, your very own fingerprint doesn’t scan, you’ll find the Cast Members will assist you using the same procedures at the turnstiles. Please let me know if I can help with anything else for your magical vacation! ~Lindsey P.
