Hiya, Susan!
Welcome to planDisney from a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question today. While I know how frustrating it can be when you can't seem to find availability for the perfect reservation, one of my favorite Membership tools is having the ability to Waitlist that reservation –– and have it booked automatically –– should it become available before my vacation. Not only does this save me from having to constantly check for new Resort availability, but there's no better surprise than opening your email to find a pixie-dusted notice that your Waitlist request has been fulfilled. Let me share a few details about viewing your active Waitlist request, as well as making any modifications or adding an additional request, to help you get ready for your upcoming visit.
Whether you've made your
Waitlist request through the Disney Vacation Club online booking portal or by calling Member Services, you'll be able to view your Waitlist existing Waitlist, along with all your other DVC reservations, right from your
Member Dashboard on the DVC website. To find it, simply hover over the My DVC tab and select "My Dashboard" from the drop-down menu. Under "My Vacation Plans" on the next page, you'll see all your reservations listed –– confirmed reservations will be marked as "Booked" with a green check, while Waitlisted reservations will be noted as "Waitlisted" with an orange clock symbol. It's a quick and easy way to view the details of all your plans in one spot, and if you'd like to make any changes to your Waitlist request or other reservations, you can do that right from this section, too.
And when it comes to adding an additional location, you'll have a few options to choose from. If you'd like to Waitlist an additional reservation for a Resort that doesn't currently have availability, remember that you can have up to two active Waitlist requests on a Membership at one time. This means that if you currently have one Waitlist request, you're welcome to Waitlist an additional reservation for your upcoming stay.
The other option you have is to book a reservation for a DVC Resort that's available for your dates and link it to your Waitlist request, so your Waitlist automatically replaces that reservation in the event it becomes available. In fact, this is something I always recommend doing when Waitlisting a reservation –– that way, you know that you'll have a guaranteed reservation in place for your dates, in the event that your Waitlist request can't be fulfilled. When doing this, I think it's easiest to start by booking the available reservation, before requesting your Waitlist, because you'll be able to link the two reservations right from the DVC website at the time your Waitlist is created. However, if you make your Waitlist request first (or have an existing Waitlist that you'd like to link to a new confirmed reservation) you'll need to give
Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800 or use the chat feature on the DVC website to link those two reservations.
I hope this helped to answer your question, Susan, and I really appreciate you visiting planDisney. I'm wishing you lots of pixie dust and plenty of Membership magic during your upcoming Disney Vacation Club Resort visit!
Happy Planning,
Amy
