Is there a way to find vegetarian and gluten free options at WDW?

    Hi there, Brian!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney! I imagine you are excited about your trip now that it is only a few weeks away. Planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort is so much fun!

We have food allergies in our family, and I always make a daily meal plan for our Walt Disney World trips to ensure we have options for everyone. I recommend starting with the Guide to Plant-Based Options and the Special Dietary Requests page. The Guide includes plant-based suggestions in each theme park. It also provides tips for finding plant-based options at each restaurant, such as looking for the green leaf icon on menus.

The Special Dietary Requests page shares information about finding allergy-friendly meals at Walt Disney World. Additionally, many quick-service restaurants have Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly sections on their menus in the My Disney Experience app and on the Walt Disney World website. Some of my favorite vegetarian, gluten allergy-friendly options currently include the Veggie Rice Bowl at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Magic Kingdom Park, the Grilled Three Cheese Sandwich on Allergy-Friendly Bread at Woody's Lunch Box in Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the Nicoise-style Salad at Connections Eatery in EPCOT. The Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl at Satu'li Canteen in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is also delicious! Menus are subject to change at any time, but there should be plenty of plant-based, gluten-friendly items to choose from.

In my experience, most table-service restaurants have allergy menus even if they are not posted on the website. For example, many restaurants offer Allergy-Friendly Mickey-shaped Waffles for breakfast. Some restaurants do have allergy options listed on the Walt Disney World website, and most restaurants can accommodate gluten/wheat allergy-friendly requests in my experience. The food choices are usually a modification of an existing offering on the menu. I recommend notifying the Cast Member about your dietary restrictions when you are seated, and they can offer suggestions to meet your needs.

Brian, I hope you find plenty of delicious food and treats during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! If you have other questions, I am happy to help!

Wishing you a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
