How do I find theme nights and events for our upcoming cruise so we can pack accordingly? We set sail Monday 7/28/225 on the Disney Dream. It leaves from Fort Lauderdale, FL

    Ahoy there, Jessica!

Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you're getting your packing list ready to set sail on the Dream—and what a dreamy adventure you have ahead! That ship holds such a special place in my heart because it was the very first one my crew and I ever sailed on, and I just know your crew is in for a boatload of unforgettable memories.

When it comes to theme nights on a Disney cruise, here’s the scoop: First, dressing up is completely optional! You can go all out in your best themed outfits, keep things simple with matching shirts (a fan-favorite for my crew), or just stick to cruise casual. The second thing to remember is that all schedules are subject to change—so be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you're onboard to confirm event details, theme nights, and locations. Think of it as your enchanted map to all things magical.

Now, for your 5-night sailing aboard the Dream, here’s the current plan:

Day 2 (Nassau): This is your optional “dress-up” night. Whether you’re feeling like Cinderella heading to the ball or just want to swap your flip-flops for something a little fancier, anything goes! You’ll see a full range of attire—from formal gowns and dapper suits to sundresses and polos. So don’t feel like you need to summon your fairy godmother for this one... unless you want to!

Day 4 (Lookout Cay): Shiver me timbers—it’s Pirate Night! This is when your crew can unleash your inner swashbucklers. My crew often rocks matching pirate shirts (easy, breezy, and totally on theme), but you’ll also see Guests in full pirate regalia worthy of Captain Jack Sparrow himself. We once tried the whole treasure-chest of costumes, but my kids quickly jumped ship on that idea for future sailings. Be sure to check your Navigator app for pirate-themed activities, and don’t miss the Pirate Night Deck Party, capped off with fireworks (weather permitting) that’ll make you say, “Yo ho, let’s do that again!”

The rest of your nights will be cruise casual—but if you’re in the mood to add a little extra sparkle and dress up more than once, go for it! Many Guests enjoy dressing up every evening, and there's no wrong way to add your own personal magic to each night.

I hope this helps you pack like a pro and sail into your adventure feeling prepared and excited! You’re going to make memories that are truly worth more than a chest full of doubloons—and probably eat more soft-serve than you expect (trust me on that one).

Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
