Hiya Vince,
Welcome to planDisney! We are so excited that you are here. Dining at Walt Disney World Resort is one of my favorite parts of every vacation. My significant other and I plan every trip around which table service locations and yummy snacks we want to try. We have a personal goal to try every table service location at Walt Disney World Resort, and with so many options, this goal will take us a little bit of time.
One of the fantastic things about
table service at Walt Disney World is that the incredible chefs can accommodate a wide range of special dietary requests, including gluten-free, lactose allergies, peanuts/tree nuts allergies, and many more. In my experience, every restaurant offers something that will suit you and your family. When you make a reservation for any dining location, you will have the opportunity to indicate your dietary requests. On the final screen, where it asks for you to put in a credit card to hold the dining reservation, there will be a little clickable box that says “Add a Food Allergy or Request” (if on the
My Disney Experience mobile app). If you use My Disney Experience on a
web browser, there will be a button to “Add” dietary requests on page three, “Review Your Reservation,” under the subheading Food allergy or Special Requests. Adding in the requests is only step one; don’t forget to inform your server when you arrive as well.
Now, let’s say you want to preview what the allergy-friendly options will be before committing to the dining location. You can 100% do that! Each dining location shares its menu on the website. They have sections detailing their allergy-friendly selections—for instance, one of my favorite gems at Magic Kingdom,
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen offers a Falls Family Falafel and Jungle Green Salad as gluten-free appetizer options and six delicious entrée options. It also is a punny good time for all. I encourage you to always check out the menu before booking reservations to ensure that you will enjoy something before locking it in.
Just one last tip, Vince. If you are a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel Guest, you can begin booking dining 60 days (plus the length of your resort hotel stay) in advance of your arrival. So if you have a week-long stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you would be able to book 67 days out from your trip. Starting at 5:45 am EST of the first day of the 60+ day mark, you will be able to begin booking dining reservations. Certain locations are very popular so planning early ensures more options to choose from.
I hope I have helped answer your question. Please reach out if you need anything else or just some suggestions on some of my favorite dining locations per Theme Park.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
