I am so excited to hear that you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort in October! There are so many exciting things to look forward to for your trip with a lot of special things happening in the parks to celebrate the fall and the Halloween season. It sounds like we need to address the room availability situation first. Thank you for your question on resort room availability, let's see what we can come up with.
I will share with you that ever since the COVID-19 travel restrictions ended earlier this year, Disney has seen a significant spike in interest in hotel accommodations. From my understanding, the resorts have been uncharacteristically busy for an uncharacteristically long time. This may be one of the big reasons that you may not be seeing much availability for your dates of travel. You do have a couple of options that might help make your planning a little easier.
The first option I have for you is trying a split-stay. A split stay would involve you staying at one resort for the first part of your trip and then moving to a second resort for the second part. This will decrease the days you are requesting at both resorts and give you more of a chance to book your trip with
Disney Resort Collection accommodations. This is also a great way to see and experience a couple of different resorts as they all have similar but different accommodations and are theming for different experiences. As you leave your first resort, you can drop your bags off at bell services and they can have your bags taken to your next resort so you do not have to worry about moving your bags on your own! My family and I do this for many of our trips and love having the opportunity to see different resorts and experience the offerings and theming at each.
The other thing you can do is look under the
More Great Accommodations section on the Disney site. Here you will find many resorts that are so very close or even on Walt Disney World property but not run by Disney. These hotels are partnered with Disney and have to pass through a very stringent assessment to have the ability to offer their Guests many of the benefits they would get when staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel such as
Early Theme Park Entry.
You can always keep checking back for any changes with availability for your trip if you want to try for the same Disney Resort Collection hotel for the length of your stay. I would just make sure you try to get something booked sooner rather than later.

EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is a celebration of all things food and drinks. This celebration has so many booths across EPCOT as well as top-notch entertainment you won't want to miss. Over at Magic Kingdom, you will have the opportunity to experience
Mickey's Not-So-Scarry Halloween Party. This epic Halloween celebration will have a unique parade, firework show and trick-or-treating throughout the park fit for all ages!
