Where can I find my RCI points? Are they just my regular point allotment that can be used for another travel location?

    Hi Fran!

Welcome Home, and welcome to planDisney! I have to admit, with my love of  Disney, in my twelve years as a Disney Vacation Club Member, I haven’t booked a stay with the RCI system, but I do know how it works.

Your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points, when they are used to book in the Disney Vacation Club Collection of Resorts, are known as Vacation Points. Vacation Points can be borrowed up to one year in advance or banked up to one year in the future.

If you would like to book something within the RCI system of resorts, your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points need to be deposited into the RCI system. Once they are deposited in the RCI system, they can be used up to 2 years into the future, but they cannot be put back into the Disney Vacation Club System. The transfer is a permanent action. Points to transfer on a 1 to 1 ratio, so if you have 160 Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points, you’ll end up with 160 points to use in the RCI system. Just like Disney Vacation Club, depending on availability, you can book rooms in the RCI system by the night or by the week, though generally, by the week is more common and you’ll find greater availability. Check out this Weekly Exchanges Points Chart to get an idea of how far your Vacation Points can take you. While there is a fee to book within the RCI system, that fee has been waived for bookings made in 2021!

While signed in to the Disney Vacation Club Member Website, you can link to the RCI site and explore the different destinations and locations available, and search availability. There are some truly amazing destinations both in the United States and around the world. You also have access to last minute discounted weeks on a cash basis, that don’t involve transferring your Vacation Points. While I have not done this myself, my brother and his family were recently able to do this and had a wonderful vacation at an amazing price!

I hope this helps answer your question, Fran. Please let me know if you have any additional questions about your Disney Vacation Club Membership. Becoming a Member was one of the best decisions I have made and I love helping my fellow Members!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
