where can I find printable maps of the parks and distances in miles for a recovering knee replacement guest?

Hello George and thanks for bringing such a great question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
One of the most fun things about planning towards a practically perfect in every way visit to Walt Disney World Resort is of course checking out all the wonderful information via www.disney.go.com including each Disney Theme Park page which includes a link to a PDF map which could be printed off at home; for example you can discover the map for Magic Kingdom Park by following this link and then following the highlighted blue clickable link found on the left hand-side underneath the picture of Cinderella Castle - this process opens up a new window with a map of the Magic Kingdom Park.
Although I don't believe the current maps are set to scale with milage/distances and so on I can tell you that Walt Disney World Resort covers a vast area of approximately some 40 miles square. However I do have some suggestions for Guests with Mobility Disabilities which could make it easier on those who are in recovery from surgery such as Wheelchair Rentals or ECV Rentals or perhaps even the Disability Access Service which can assist Guests who find it difficult to wait in conventional lines.
Wishing you both a comfortable and magical upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.
