Ahoy, Breanne, and welcome to planDisney! Your first-ever Disney cruise – this is certainly exciting, especially since you're only one month away from embarkation day. You're going to love it, and I'm happy to share some tips to help you make the most of this special sailing.
First things first – let's talk about the beloved Disney Cruise tradition that is
Pirate Night. Starting in the afternoon, you'll notice more and more Guests in pirate costumes. Throughout the evening, you'll enjoy themed activities, a special dinner menu, exciting entertainment, and fireworks (weather permitting). For your cruise, Pirate Night is currently scheduled for Day 4, after the Guests return from Castaway Cay. Make sure to pack some themed outfits for the swashbuckling fun!
Your cruise is also scheduled to have an optional dress-up night on Day 2. Feel welcome to get a little fancy for dinner! It's a great time to take advantage of the onboard photography services.
Keep in mind that these schedules are subject to change, so you'll want to confirm dates and times in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Once you board the ship and connect to Wi-Fi, you'll find the most up-to-date information about deck parties, activities, and other details specific to your cruise.
Here are some of my favorite parts of a Disney Cruise – put these on your radar:
- Visit Cove Café and ask if your latte can be topped with a Character design! These specialty drinks need to be purchased, but they're so fun and delicious.
- Explore the adults-only areas throughout the ship, including the Quiet Cove Pool, nightclubs, and themed lounges. You’ll also find adults-only (as well as all-ages) sessions for activities like trivia, karaoke, silent disco (my favorite!), and variety shows.
- You picked the perfect itinerary, Breanne, because you'll have a chance to experience both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay! These are Disney's two private islands, and each offers a unique experience. Snorkeling was a highlight for me at Castaway Cay.
- Disney Cruise Line uses rotational dining. There are three main dining venues on the ship, and you'll have a chance to experience each of them. While the locations will change, the serving team will not – they'll travel with you and keep note of your drink choices and other preferences.
- Walt Disney Theatre hosts amazing Broadway-style shows. "Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular" is amazing – the special effects, recognizable songs, and talented cast make for a memorable performance.
- Remember that room service is included in the cost of your cruise, and it's available 24 hours a day. An additional charge would apply to some items.
Breanne, I hope you have the most magical, memorable time aboard the
Disney Fantasy. If you think of any other questions ahead of your trip, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
