Oh boy! The Disneyland Resort is certainly the right place to find many of your favorite Disney characters. The characters that are available to visit in the theme parks may vary each day. To find out who you can see, the best resource is the
Disneyland mobile app. Open the app’s map screen and select Characters from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen. You can pan through the parks looking for the different character icons. Or you may select “Show List” to see characters in a sorted list. The list is populated early in the morning. When characters are done visiting the parks for the day, their names drop off the list. So be sure to check the app first thing in the morning when you arrive at the theme parks so you know whom to expect that day as well as when and where you can find them.
Besides the mobile app, other resources for information about characters include the
Guest Relations Cast Members. The Guest Relations locations near
Plaza Inn in Disneyland Park and close to the Carthay Circle
Red Car Trolley stop in Disney California Adventure Park are most likely to have the latest scoop on characters. You may also ask any character assistant Cast Member on the day of your visit. You’ll recognize these special Cast Members by the buttons they wear that feature Mickey Mouse’s gloved hand and say “Ask me about characters.” They usually know the current information about most characters, even those that aren’t with them at the time.
You’ve got a great list of characters, Christine. Of those you mentioned, Chip and Dale are the most likely to be found each day at the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Olaf makes occasional appearances, but his friends Anna and Elsa are more likely to be found. They usually receive Guests in the Disney Animation Building located in Hollywood Land of Disney California Adventure Park. On rare occasions, I have seen Princess Elena of Avalor. Unfortunately, I don’t believe the Jaquins of Avalor are able to visit the Disneyland Resort. Scrooge McDuck is often busy counting his coins in his money bin. But you never know when you may see a rare character like him somewhere in The Happiest Place on Earth!
