Is there a way to find out with luggage tags will be mailed? I do not need the kids to go through mail since the trip is a surprise.

Welcome to planDisney, Kristen! A surprise holiday visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is sure to make things merry and bright for your family! I'm sure you're bursting with excitement to see your kiddos' reactions when you reveal the big news!

Kristen, complimentary luggage tags are a fun way to make our countdown to the magic more exciting! These are sometimes mailed to guests before their arrival (this usually happens about two weeks before check-in), but in certain cases, guests will not receive their luggage tags by mail ahead of time.

My panelist pal Nimmy recently confirmed that guests who have booked a Walt Disney World Vacation Package can usually expect to receive these tags by mail, along with their other Magical Extras. An eligible vacation package includes a Disney Resort hotel reservation bundled with theme park tickets and sometimes airfare or a Disney dining plan. The last time I booked a vacation package with resort room and theme park tickets, I received my luggage tags, Magical Extras card, and MagicBand+ in a plain white box about 12 days before check-in. If you booked your package through a travel agent or within ten days of your arrival, you will not usually receive these items by mail. Since you're hoping to keep the magic a surprise from your kiddos, if your package is eligible for receiving this in the mail, I would keep an eye on the mail deliveries starting two weeks before your check-in to avoid any unexpected surprises!

Kristen, if you do not receive these items by mail and have booked a vacation package, feel free to stop by the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel to request these complimentary items! If you're celebrating any other special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, or even a first visit, you can also request a celebration button while you're there! This is a fun way to let everyone know about your special celebration and share in the magic with you!

Kristen, I hope this helps! Be sure to check out the Holiday Foodie Guide before you head to the Most Magical Place on Earth so you can make your list (and check it twice!) for all the delicious seasonal snacks you'd like to try!
