Hello there,
Welcome to
planDisney Lorrie! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. I should be able to help with this. Let’s get this planning started!
The
Walt Disney World resort is a wonderful place for groups of all sizes to visit. Some come for vacations in large groups, some visit solo. But one thing is for sure is there is always something happening when I’m visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth."
ESPN Wide World of Sports often plays host to sporting events as well as cheer competitions. If you are looking to do some light research on the website, there is an events page. While there is no official list for all of the events happening throughout the Walt Disney World resort all year round, this option will at least give you the ability to see if there are any sports competitions happening during your visit. This of course would not include any large groups visiting that are not sports related. Some of the Disney Resort Collection hotels have conference rooms and often play host to conventions. These business conventions aren’t always public knowledge and Disney sharing this information could cause a conflict of interest in some cases. For the date you indicated you will be visiting, I checked the events page on the ESPN website and there does seem to be a soccer tournament. You can check the site for additional details on the dates and activities.
Looks like you may be visiting this summer, and in just a couple of weeks. If you are staying at a
Disney Resort Collection hotel, then on your check-in day guests will be able to visit one of the water parks for free. This is 2025 benefit is only available on your check-in day. So if you arrive early enough, you can drop off your luggage with Bell Services and head straight to the waterpark of your choice.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, as well as
Blizzard Beach have been entertaining guests for years and this summer will be no different. Summit Plummet is one of the most popular water slides reserved for the bravest of visitors. But there is something for everyone at these parks including splash areas like Ketchakiddie Creek for little ones, and relaxing Castaway Creek for those wanting a more tame experience.
I hope you found this information to be helpful in planning your visit. If you have any other questions
head on back to ask me another question and I will be happy to help you anyway I can.
See ya real soon,
Jeremy A.
