How can I find more info on being the honorary family at the Magic Kingdom Rope Drop Ceremony? We visit at least once a year and would love to participate some time.

    Hi Angela!

There is no 'full-proof formula' for being selected as the honorary family for the Magic Kingdom Rope Drop Ceremony. However, I can tell you that it helps to arrive early, well before Rope Drop. Keep in mind this doesn't necessarily guarantee your family will be picked. It is a completely random process! The selection is usually made by a Cast Member at Magic Kingdom, and since you don't know which Cast Member is doing the selecting, it is difficult to determine what do to. However, I definitely recommend exhibiting a great deal of enthusiasm and perhaps wearing matching shirts and/or Mickey/Minnie ears. You might also want to go to the right side of the Magic Kingdom turnstiles about 90 minutes before park opening and don't forget to be super excited! Sending you tons of Pixie Dust for your dream to come true!

    Happy New Year!
