Hiya Peter,
Welcome to
planDisney! I remember when I moved to Florida once upon a time; I looked over at the “Welcome to the Sunshine State” sign and chuckled because it was pouring rain. For being the sunshine state, it rains an awful lot.
As someone who has experienced both
Nighttime Spectaculars in the rain and has also had them canceled because of it, I understand wanting to prepare in advance. Unfortunately, because of Florida’s constantly shifting weather (especially in the summer), decisions about canceling due to weather are made closer to show time. The only way to find out if the Nighttime Spectacular is being canceled that day is to ask a Cast Member shortly before the scheduled showtime.
I hope this was helpful, Peter. As you prepare for your trip, I don’t want to remind you to pack rain gear even if the forecast points towards sunny skies. A midday downpour often comes when you least expect it, so I always have rain gear with me. That way, when everyone retreats indoors due to the rain, I can head to queue up for my next attraction, nice and dry.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
