Hi there, John!
Welcome to planDisney where we are always delighted to help fellow Guests prepare for their next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and, of course, the first step in planning your vacation is deciding when you will go!
As a Mouseketeer who has visited Walt Disney World Resort almost every month of the calendar year, I know firsthand that crowd levels drastically vary throughout the year, and I completely understand your desire to visit at a time when there are fewer Guests so that wait times might be a bit shorter. While there is no official Walt Disney World Resort crowd calendar, I'm happy to use my experience to provide a bit of insight for you!
Typically, you can expect Walt Disney World Resort to welcome more Guests when schools are not in session, during special events such as
runDisney race weekends, and on dates surrounding holidays. While it would be ideal to avoid vacationing at these times, for some individuals (such as teachers like me) this is simply not possible. Happily, my experience has been that even on the busiest weeks of the year it is possible to find unexpected moments of calm. Planning and flexibility will also be your best friends when visiting during popular times of the year.
By utilizing perks available to Guests of Disney Resorts Collection hotels such as
Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Theme Park Hours and purchasing
Lightning Lane passes, you'll be able to maximize the number of attractions you experience with less wait! I also make a habit of checking wait times across all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the My Disney Experience app midday and hop to a different theme park if I notice that it has drastically shorter waits than where I am currently.
In my opinion, John, it's always a
practically perfect time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth, so if you have any additional questions about visiting during a particular time of year, feel free to stop back by.
I'm all ears!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
