Howdy, Eric! Thank you for asking this very pin-teresting question of us here at planDisney! I love collecting pins and trading them with Cast Members, fellow guests, and friends both near and far, so I'm glad to hear you're a member of the pin community, too. Pin events are both fun & festive, as they bring pin people together for trading, games, artist meet & greets, exclusive pin releases, and raffles! I attended the "Celebrating 25 Years of Disney Pins" event last September at Walt Disney World and had an absolute blast, and I would love to see you there in 2026. I'm ready to share everything you'll need to know to have a chance at registering.
The site you'll want to keep an eye on is the
Merchandise, Shopping & Product Events page. You'll see there's a card for the upcoming Pin Trading Night on June 15th, but it sold out the same day it went live. The registration for that event was not announced ahead of time, and I learned about it via social media and some of the pin trading groups I'm a member of. In addition to that event, there is the annual pin trading event that is usually held each September. Registration for this event is typically announced ahead of time, and it took place in June last year. I anticipate that information about registering for this year's event will be announced soon, and we'll be able to take a peek at the event catalog to start thinking about what pins we absolutely must add to our collections!
Registration for the event will be a randomized queue, so opening the page as soon as it's available won't give you an advantage. You just need faith, trust, and pixie dust as you hope for a low queue number once registration begins. Even guests who end up missing registration can trade at Coronado Springs with many of the attendees. I was absolutely floored by both the amount of non-event guests in the convention center lobby and the amount of pins they all had with them: I'm talking rolling suitcases full of pins! It truly was a pin trader's dream come true. I was able to snag some exclusive event-only pins, finish some sets I had been working on for a while, and enjoy seeing the wide variety of collections that were on display. It really was an incredible experience.
Aside from these events, there are pop-up and one-off events from time to time. The Disney Store in New York City had a
pop-up event this past March, and Disneyland Resort held a Niftie Fifities Flashback Pin Trading Celebration in June of 2025. My recommendation is to check the
Disney Parks Blog for updates, and interact with the Disney pin community online. These resources may help you learn when registration for the next Disney pin event starts.
Here's a final pin collecting tip: don't forget you can grab pins online every Tuesday at 11AM Eastern as part of
Pin-Tastic Tuesday at the Disney Store.
I am wishing you the best of luck as you try and register for future pin events, Eric! May you always pull the pin you wish for from your mystery bags and boxes, and may every trade you propose be accepted.
Stay magical,
Scott
