Where can I find the current minor child authorization form? We will be traveling with a seven year old grandchild. Thank you

    Welcome aboard planDisney, Joseph!

Thank you for bringing such an important question our way in advance of your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation. Taking your grandchild on such a special trip will be wonderful memories made together! I’m happy to share the official form with you so that you have smooth sailing with this important but formal process.

Since you are traveling with a child and are not their parent or legal guardian, the Authorization for Minors to Travel Without a Parent or Guardian Form is required to be filled out by the parent/legal guardian. This form must be notarized and brought with you to the port terminal on embarkation day. This legal document formally empowers you to have custody, care, and control over your grandchild during the cruise vacation. A reminder of this required form is presented during your Online Check-In process 30 days before sailing, but you can print it now and get this process started any time prior to your cruise.

Notary Publics can be easily found in your hometown if you know where to look. I usually use my local U.S. Post Office or shipping service store, making a quick phone call to ask what hours the notary is available to save time on an unproductive visit. Hopefully a quick Internet search will find one convenient to your town - they are typically also found in banks, city and town halls, law offices, and even pharmacies. The printed, signed, and notarized form should be packed in your carry-on bag to the port on your special sail date so that a Disney Cruise Line representative can receive it at the terminal with your Port Arrival Form and travel documentation.

I’ve cruised with my son when he was seven, and it’s a wonderful age for some active fun and imagination onboard. Be sure to stop by the Oceaneer Club on your first day during the Open House. These event times are the only hours you’ll be allowed inside to explore the space so you can see that your grandchild is comfortable and then ask about all the great activities they did on the cruise. I know you will master the art of the perfect soft serve ice cream swirl with unlimited cones on the pool deck! Don’t forget to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App in advance of your trip, and when you switch to “onboard mode” upon boarding check out all the details for your personalized schedule. You can browse activities together and “favorite” any activities coming up that would interest you to receive a reminder notification. My son especially enjoys trivia, Anyone Can Cook, Towel Animal Folding, and the family game shows.

Please let us know if you have any more questions as you finalize plans for this very special vacation.

    Wishing you a magical cruise,
