Ahoy Linda!
Welcome to planDisney! We are so excited that you have an upcoming cruise with Captain Mickey. Get ready to experience
all the fun and magic with your crew on your Disney adventure at sea!
So here’s an example of how waiting a day can mean a totally different answer to your question. As of today, Disney Cruise Line is no longer requiring proof of travel insurance. This change stems from the fact that now
all Guests regardless of vaccination status are required to take a COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics at the terminal before boarding. Guests with positive COVID-19 test results will be denied boarding, including those in their travel party.
Additionally,
all Guests 12 years of age and up must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to sail with Captain Mickey. While
travel insurance is still an excellent idea and something I don’t travel without, it is no longer a prerequisite to sailing for the unvaccinated (because now vaccination is required for those 12 and up). If you signed up for travel insurance with the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan, you can learn more about the particulars of that coverage
HERE. (It is administered by Aon Affinity, so that may be where you purchased your travel insurance).
You can verify this hot-off-the-press information on the
Know Before You Go section of the Disney Cruise Line website. Wow, to think I almost had a totally different answer all ready to send you and poof, in one day, it all changed! Oh well, I’d rather it be this way so you got the most up-to-date information.
I hope that clarifies things for you and that it will be nothing but smooth sailing as you get all the requirements for your sailing done. As always, we are here if you think of anything else. Wishing you the most MAGICal time ever on your adventure at sea!
