Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Joleen! I'm so happy to hear you're planning your family's first walt Disney World Resort vacation - there is so much magic in store for you.
Minnie Mouse is a style icon, and I love,
love, LOVE that your three-year-old has such fantastic taste! Our girl does love to
Rock the Dots, but also has a fabulous wardrobe and jumps at the chance to dress for any occasion. While she does love to match her bow to her outfit, I totally understand the appeal of finding Minnie in her classic red polka-dot bow, and I'm here to help your tiny fashionista!
Epcot's Character Spot, where Guests can currently meet Minnie and friends in their classic duds, is indeed closing temporarily on September 8, 2019. According to the Character Spot web page, Minnie will relocate to the World Showcase Gazebo, and while we don't know right now if she'll continue to wear her classic red and white ensemble, I bet we'll see pictures on the
Disney Parks Blog when the characters move to their temporary spots, so be sure to read along for all the news.
For a magical experience with Minnie, you might want to make a reservation to dine at
Chef Mickey's. Minnie appears in her classic, red polka-dotted dress and bow here (wearing an apron to protect her skirt, of course), and a friend recently reported that she found Minnie Mouse waffles on the breakfast buffet. While I can't promise those waffles will always be there, it's a great chance to meet Mickey, Minnie, and their pals, enjoy a kid-friendly meal, and watch the monorail zoom through Disney's Contemporary Resort.
If your daughter is open to seeing some of Minnie's other looks, I have a few suggestions:
-
Wish Mickey and Minnie a happy 90th birthday and see them in their adorable birthday outfits at Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom Park – but note that this experience's last day is September 30, 2019.
-Enjoy lunch or dinner at
Minnie's Seasonal Dine at Hollywood & Vine. Minnie never fails to wear an amazing themed outfit, and it will be Halloween time during her visit, so she's sure to look frightfully fabulous.
-For old Hollywood style, visit
Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Minnie's gown is stunning, and she has a bow to match!
-Minnie wears a take on her classic outfit in the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, with some pink touches and a fun hat.
Joleen, I hope meeting Minnie is a magical moment for your sweet little one! If you have any more questions as you do your Disney dreaming (and it sounds like your
preschooler has lots of her own Disney dreams too!), please come back and see us. We love helping to make wishes come true!
Wishing you and your Minnie Mouseketeer a magical vacation,
Robyn
