Welcome to planDisney Page!
You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers...and there are plenty of flowers to enjoy at the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Explore the topiaries, the gardens, displays, and then dance the night away at the Garden Rocks Concert Series! I just love springtime in Walt Disney World!
May is generally a nice time to visit as far as crowds go. As you approach the end of the month, crowds will pick up as kids start their summer vacations. Memorial Day can get crowded, as you will see with any holiday throughout the year.
My best advice to you is get started early each day. Take advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry if staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. Guests who are staying at participating hotels can start their magical days 30 minutes prior to official opening times. These will be the shortest lines of the day, so be the early bird!
Another way to save time in lines is to upgrade your
Theme Park Ticket with
Genie+. With this upgrade, you can choose a window of time for an attraction, then skip the stand-by line and zoom through the Lightning Lane. This feature can be a huge time saver!
When I plan my Disney days, I always get an early start then head back to my resort mid-day for some pool time and a refresh. This gets me out of the sun and out of the parks during the peak hours. When early evening arrives, it is back to the parks for dinner and one of the nighttime spectaculars such as
Disney Enchantment at the Magic Kingdom. Crowds usually thin out later in the evening, so it is a good time to fit in a few more attractions.
If you stick to a plan of getting an early start and adding on Genie+, you probably won't even notice the crowds. When the lines are the longest in the early afternoon, hopefully you will be lounging at your resort pool, re-energizing for a night of magic. Have fun!
