Hello again K, and welcome back again to planDisney!
There's really nothing like being able to enjoy a warm cup of chocolatey good stuff over the holidays - whether it's what folks call hot cocoa, hot chocolate or even fancy flights of "sipping chocolate"! Personally, I'm always down for whatever form it takes and though some may find themselves firmly in the realms of the
Joffrey's and
Starbucks offerings you'll find across Walt Disney World Resort - a lot of folks can attest to the greatness that is the
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop at Disney Springs. (A great thing I like to do is to let one of their signature
white chocolate caramel squares melt right into the cocoa!)
In the past few years there have been Hot Cocoa flights on the menus at Fairfax Fare and Dockside Diner over at Disney's Hollywood Studios that pop up closer to the holidays with a bit of an adults-only kick for those of legal drinking age, but I'd recommend keeping an eye out on the
Disney Parks Blog for any related offerings like this in time for the debut of Disney Jollywood Nights! There's a special "Sandy Claws Hot Cocoa" with a distinct whipped cream topping that could be really exciting if you enjoy chocolate and cherry flavors together that I'm probably just going to admire visually.
Right now I'm waiting for the Disney Eats Foodie Guide to take a look at the beverages on offer at the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, where I personally like to enjoy my hot chocolate as I do a bit of globetrotting to enjoy the storytellers across the World Showcase pavilions. Until the debut of "
Luminous The Symphony of Us" this December, be sure to warm up with your hot chocolate in the evening as you watch
EPCOT Forever for a bit of the history of the
Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow as well as the former attractions whose music will delight any fan of the past and Disney historian alike. (If you're interested in delving deeper into how Walt Disney planned this project for a great, big, beautiful tomorrow that only opened after his time, I also recommend watching some of the great documentaries that you can find out there including the second episode of The Imagineering Story found on Disney+.)
In the meantime as we await the release of the new holiday menus across Walt Disney World Resort you're always welcome back here at planDisney, so we can plan around the best spots for us to get our liquid dose of chocolate while surrounded by the spirit of the season!
Here's to hot chocolate warming hearts at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
