Hi, we are finally going to do do Disney this fall. We have a 10 and 8 yr old boys. I really wanna do this vacation right and really want to do age appropriate things. Is there anything we definitely need to see for these ages.

    Hi Sarah,

I'm so happy to hear you're planning your family's first Walt Disney World Resort visit! You're going to love exploring the "Most Magical Place on Earth" along with your sons.

I think your boys might enjoy Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial, a high-spirited outdoor show in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park that’s fun for kids, tweens and adults, too. Volunteers are chosen to train in sword fighting, and the Captain calls for all willing scallywags to take the official pirate’s oath!

The Pirates League, located in Adventureland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park, is a swashbuckling experience for boys, girls and even adults who want to get decked out like a pirate for the day with some help from Captain Jack and his crew.
Guests are given an official pirate name from the captain’s log before being escorted to the Muster Station where veteran pirates from the League make them into fearsome pirates. The experience includes a reversible bandanna, earring, eye patch, temporary tattoo, removable teeth. To complete the pirate persona, buccaneers learn a few moves from Pirate Masters and are presented with a sword, sheath and pirate coin necklace. Then they’re sworn in with a personalized pirate oath and led to a secret chamber to discover surprise hidden treasure!

I also suggest checking out one of the tours specifically geared toward kids, and take some time to look over the Walt Disney World Resort Website together in advance so your sons can map out the attractions and shows they would most like to experience. You can filter these by age group to see what might interest them the most.

    I hope this helps, Sarah!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
