I am finally going on a Disney cruise with my 5.y.o. daughter! However my daughter does not speak any English so I am worried about leaving her at the Disney's Oceaneer Club. Do you know if the Oceaneer Club staff can speak French?

    Hi, Anne!

There actually are many languages spoken throughout the ships of Disney Cruise Line -- the crew is literally from all over the world!

More than likely, someone in Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab will be able to interpret what your child is saying and how the counselors can best meet her needs. To be confident, make sure you note that she speaks only French when you register her for the Oceaneer's Club/Lab and on your reservation. In addition, when you visit the youth clubs on the first day, you'll want to introduce your daughter personally to the counselors and ask if there is someone who speaks French.

All four of my children -- who speak English and only a little Spanish -- have made many friends who speak little or no English while on Disney ships. Children all speak the universal language of "play!" Let me know if I can answer any questions for you as you book and plan your Disney cruise, and I hope that I've helped to relieve any "mommy worries."

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
