Finally got my AP back after many years! The MDE website shows my pass expiring 1 year from purchase date, but I thought it doesn't expire until a year after first use. Is the date I see online the date by which I need to activate it (use it first)?

Hi, Elizabeth!  It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Pennsylvanian here at planDisney!

First of all, let me say congratulations on becoming a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder once again!  Since it's been a while since your last annual pass purchase, be sure to familiarize yourself with all of the current discounts and benefits that come along with your year of magic as an Annual Passholder.  I also recommend checking the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page any time you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort trip.  You can often find some great deals on Disney Resorts Collection hotel rooms for Annual Passholders.

When I first purchased my Disney Incredi-Pass, I was also confused about the expiration date listed in My Disney Experience.  You are correct, Elizabeth, the expiration date you currently see listed for your annual pass is one year from the date of purchase, and this is the time frame in which you need to activate your pass.  Once you activate your pass by using it to enter a Walt Disney World theme park, the expiration date will change to one year from the date that you first use it.  You will have an entire year of magic from the date that you first use your pass before you need to renew.

I hope that you make some incredible memories as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder this year!  If you have any other questions, feel free to stop by planDisney again any time.  See ya real soon!
