Hello! We are finalizing plans for the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon Weekend. I am wondering how long I should allow for transportation from Hollywood Studios to the Kids Races on Saturday. Also, how early should we plan to arrive for check-in?

    Hi Denise!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

It depends on how you're traveling from Hollywood Studios.  If you have a vehicle, you can make it to ESPN Wide World of Sports in ten to fifteen minutes from there.

If you're using Disney buses, I would allow at least an hour.  The easiest way for you to use the buses would be to walk or take a ferry to one of the Epcot area resorts (Swan and Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht Club or Beach Club), and then hop on one of the runDisney buses from there to the sports complex for the kids races.

Another option would be to use Uber.  I used them several times on my last trip, and traveling between Walt Disney World locations was generally about $7.00 per trip.

The races are set to start at 11:30 a.m.  Warm-up will begin about an hour before. There will be a DJ playing some fun songs to get your child (and you!) dancing, stretching and warming up.  I would recommend being there at least a half an hour early to find your start line, warm-up, etc.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any other questions!
