Is filming with a handheld action camera (Sony Camcorder) okay while on rides?

Hello Chelly and thank you for asking the Disney Parks Moms Panel such a super question about your upcoming visit to the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.
One of the greatest joys to look back upon and some of the best souvenirs from my own families jolly visits to Walt Disney World Resort have been from photographs and especially video footage taken with either our smartphones or GoPro camera. After all, a picture tells a thousand words...
In my own experience I'm happy to share that we've not experienced any problems when using a small, hand held filming device in and around the Disney Parks; however Cast Members are simply Wild About Safety and should always be consulted at the point on entry onto an Attraction for their safety guidance and advice.
I really enjoy utilising Memory Maker and the Disney PhotoPass Service during our Disney trips and you'll be pleased to know that on select Attractions like Splash Mountain Memory Maker captures your fun ride experience so that you don't have to!
For your further information and planning I thought you may also wish to take a peek at the current Walt Disney World Resort Rules and Regulations
    Have a great Disney day.
