Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    My fiance and I are going to WDW at the end of Oct. for our honeymoon. We already have reservations at AKL (which is great), but I'm a bit torn, because part of me wants to stay at the contemporary/bay lake tower too. Suggestions? Pros and Cons about each?

    Hi Brittany!  Both choices are wonderful so it is a tough call. I will share some pros and cons for both and maybe that will help you make the final decision.

    Animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly unique. To view the animals from your resort room is a chance of something only others get when on a real safari. Disney has done it well to give you that feeling too.  They offer some educational type programs which only resort guests can enjoy and this resort is home to some great dining, Jikos and Sanaa!

    One of the biggest concerns with guests is that this resort is far from the other Disney action. You must take a bus to all four parks including Animal Kingdom even though it is just next door. The only concern is that the way the resort is set up can mean you have a room that is FAR from the main lobby. After a long day in the park you don't want to have to walk a long way to your room.

    Bay Lake Towers has one of the best locations of resorts on property. Just a short walk to the Magic Kingdom makes is so inviting. The views from the rooms can't be beat either as you look upon either the Magic Kingdom or the Bay Lake area which is very peaceful. This DVC property has its own pool so you don't have to share with the Contemporary main resort guests. 

    The one concern here is that you do not have your own bus area and you must take the long walk across the bridge walkway to get to the main Contemporary building to eat, shop, or hop on the monorail or bus.

    If you are looking for location, location, location choose the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower. If you are wishing for something unique and different then choose the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both will give you a honeymoon trip you won't forget!
