    My fiancée and I will be spending our honeymoon at the Disney world hotel, from October 1-7, 2017. Will the water parks still be open at that time?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Frank! So nice to see you here!

    First, I want to congratulate you on your upcoming nuptials and on your very own “happily ever after”! My first visit to Walt Disney World Resort was actually my honeymoon over 10 magical yEARS ago! I always get SO excited when Guests or friends tell me that they are planning a “Disneymoon”! Although Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is scheduled to close for refurbishment in the Fall, it isn’t until later in the month of October. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is only scheduled to close for refurbishment in the winter, so BOTH Disney Water Parks will be up and running during your visit! Might I suggest checking out the newest attraction at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Miss Adventure Falls? If you are a fan of raft water slides (who isn’t?), then this is for you!

    As you are marking a special occasion with your visit, make sure to stop by Guest Relations to get an “I’m Celebrating” button, you never know what Pixie Dust or well wishes will come your way when you are sporting these! Perhaps a visit to The Chapeau in Magic Kingdom Park to pick-up a Groom Mickey hat and some Bride Minnie ears? 

    Also, you happen to be visiting during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, so I suggest taking some time to explore the food and drink around World Showcase. This way, you can tell everyone that you travelled the entire world during your honeymoon!
