Me and my fiance are planning a trip to Disney for July.We know it's going to be hot and the lines are going to be bad but this is the only time we are going to be able to go and it will be my first time ever in Florida so my question is how to stay cool?

    Hey Amber!

When I was in Disney this past October they had record breaking highs...it was actually hotter than any summer visit that I've had there. Despite being a Georgia girl familiar with high humidity & heat,  it can be intense.

So, some things that my group & I quickly learned....
    • Start very early in the morning when the Parks are coolest and you can get a lot done. We then take an afternoon break and hit the Resort pool before heading back to the Parks for late afternoon & evening.
    • Take advantage of the ice bucket in your hotel by leaving a bottle of water in it overnight so that it is crisp & cold for you to take to the Park. I bring a plastic freezer bag with me that I put a bit of ice in & a wash cloth. When you are super hot, just being able to take the wash cloth out and put it on your neck for a minute feels divine!  When I have forgotten the wash cloth the paper towels from restrooms folded & run under cold water work, too. I actually had other guests follow me into the bathroom so I could make some of these for them & their children!
    • Throughout the Parks you will see shops & carts with these spray bottles that have a fan to blow a cool mist. My friend got one of these, & she loved it! I was too thrifty to purchase it (thrifty=cheap! Heh).
    • Take advantage of the indoor attractions during the heat! Disney is generous with A/C!
I hope you have a great time & remember your sunscreen!
