Hi there Sarah, I'm happy to wish you a warm wedding welcome to planDisney!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding; I recently tied the knot myself last year thanks to
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings but whether or not you're saying "I do" closer to home or out in Orlando, there's really nothing like having a
Walt Disney World Resort honeymoon! Something that definitely helps (especially after all of the things that come with paying for a wedding) is having a registry set up to help take care of your honeymoon expenses. Many fellow couples dream of heading to a Disney Destination where they can enjoy their first steps together as newlyweds, and it's great to know that we can take advantage of some excellent Disney Experiences thanks to our family and friends!
You'll be happy to hear that according to their current Terms and Conditions, the
Honeymoon Wishes Registry is also
open for international couples outside of the USA, and any funds that you receive from wedding guests and well-wishers is compiled into a
Disney Gift Card. What this could mean is that you'll both have the freedom to do whatever you'd like with this amount
wherever Disney Gift Cards are accepted. In my personal experience, this was incredibly handy and we received several of these to use after our wedding on dining,
Enchanting Extras Collection experiences and even towards paying for our
Annual Passes!
Speaking on behalf of fellow Canucks, many savvy Canadian couples have even opted to encourage their guests to purchase Disney Gift Cards for them as a great way for folks to avoid foreign transaction fees during their trips. (Bear in mind that there are locations on Walt Disney World Resort property that won't accept the Disney Gift Card like select merchants, carts or shopping locations so it's always good to ask prior to making any purchases.)
A few things that I personally recommend that would be an excellent use of your Honeymoon Wishes registry funds are a
Capture Your Moment session where you can have the chance to dress nicely (just not in wedding attire) and have your own photo shoot around Cinderella Castle or attend a holiday party at that time of year like
Disney Jollywood Nights. We also love the idea of
a speciality Fireworks Cruise as you watch
Happily Ever After from the Seven Seas Lagoon or
Luminous The Symphony of Us from within EPCOT World Showcase. Hope this helps, Sarah -
come back to us here at planDisney for any more tips or advice about how to make this honeymoon that much more magical!
Wishing you both all the best on your Happily Ever After!
Prince
