Hello! My fiance and I are having our honeymoon at Walt Disney World. We are going to make a registry though Disney Honeymoon. If we are putting room accommodations on the registry, do we wait to book until people purchase as a gift?

    Hey there, Rebecca!

A warm welcome to planDisney. As a former wedding and honeymoon planner, I am absolutely thrilled to answer your great question about Disney’s Honeymoons today. Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming nuptials. I wish you a blessed, magical, and unforgettable wedding and honeymoon!

Rebecca, if you haven't already done so, please sign up for a Disney's Honeymoons registry via this link. You have several options for having your room accommodations gifted via Disney’s Honeymoons. The most common way to do so is by adding “Accommodations At Our Disney Resort Hotel” as one of the gifts on your Disney’s Honeymoons registry page.

You and your partner choose the denomination for this gift when you add it to your registry. Then, family and friends will be able to purchase this gift for you. You can choose to add the registry listing purchase amount close to the full value of your Guest Room, or you can choose to add it in amounts such as $25, $50, or $100 so several family and friends can help make payments toward your Guest Room.

Additionally, you can add several listings of different amounts. I suggest inputting your honeymoon dates into the Walt Disney World Resort website to get a general idea of Guest Room pricing. Please keep in mind that prices tend to change, but this will give you a general idea of pricing, which will help you set purchase amounts in your registry!

Once you are ready to book your accommodations, you can apply these gifts as “payments” towards your stay. To do so,  go to the “Manage your Money” section of the Disney’s Honeymoons page and then click “Request a Payment”.  The team at Disney's Honeymoons will send you an e-card that you can use to make payments towards your Guest Room total!

However, if you are traveling soon or during a busy season (such as Spring Break, summer break, or during the holidays), I suggest booking your room accommodation in advance and then using the Guest Room “gifts” your family and friends purchase to pay down the balance of your Guest Room. By doing so, you won’t risk the dates and/or accommodations you want for your honeymoon being sold out or unavailable.

Rebecca, if you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to visit planDisney again. We are all EARS and excited to help you plan your honeymoon to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Wishing you a Happily Ever After,

    Priscila
