Hi Elizabeth,
My husband and I were just talking about a dish we had on our honeymoon 26 years ago, something we'd never tried before but has become a favorite. We've been exploring restaurants together ever since, often at Walt Disney World.
So here's hoping you and your husband can enjoy a honeymoon meal -- or many -- that you will be talking about years from now!
The good news is that there is something for everyone at the Disney restaurants, whether your tastes are simple or exotic. You can find the greatest variety at the buffets. Among our tops for atmosphere and food are Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club and the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom.
For romantic, special occasion dinners, it doesn't get much better than the California Grill atop the Contemporary resort. It is closed for refurbishment right now, but should be open again by October.
Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge and
Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian also are among our top romantic spots.
If you want to try something on the exotic side, I recommend
Sanaa at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The menu is filled with delicious African- and Indian-influenced dishes that are designed to be shared. Plus, you can see animals on the savannah as you dine.
We also think the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in the Italy area at Epcot is a quiet, romantic spot. And the new Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom is beautiful and tasty.
I'm limited on space, but if you want to write me back with other questions or for more recommendations, I will be happy to help. Best wishes on your marriage and your honeymoon!
Wilma
