Hello, My fiancé and I are wanting to book a Disney World holiday together for August 2026 and I was wondering when this will open? Do they just drop tickets or closer to the time will there be get a date that they holidays will be released

Hi Poppy Anne! On behalf of my planDisney friends, congratulations on your engagement! You and your fiancé will have a magical time visiting Mickey and Minnie in August 2026! Planning ahead is my top strategy when booking a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Your planning will serve you well!

At the present time, Mickey is accepting reservations until December 31, 2025. Reservations for summer 2026 will most likely open a few months after the calendar flips to 2025. I recommend checking back in late February 2025 at the earliest, but more likely into March or April 2025.

Now, while Mickey isn’t quite ready to open reservations for summer 2026, you can continue your planning! Take some time to explore the resort hotels that make up the Disney Resorts Collection! You’ll find resort hotels in the value, moderate, and deluxe categories.

When you book your resort on the Walt Disney World Resort website, you can also add theme park tickets to your package! And, you can even choose to add the delicious Disney Dining Plan to your package! All options will be presented on-screen when you book your vacation. You can select the number of days you want to visit the theme parks. Once you finish “building” your vacation, you will see a quoted price and can proceed with your booking.

Poppy Anne, take some time to begin exploring the Special Offers page on the Walt Disney World Resort website! You’ll start to get an idea of some of the money-saving deals you might be able to take advantage of when it’s time for you to book your vacation! And, keep in mind that if a new offer is released after you book your reservation, you can always check to see if the new offer can be applied to your existing reservation!

Come on back to planDisney with more questions! Your early planning is “Fantasmic!”

    Dreams do come true!
