Hi Nick,
We are delighted to hear the exciting news that a wedding is on the horizon! Of course, we are happy to help you get started with planning a trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort. First, I suggest that you navigate the Walt Disney World® Resort homepage and make sure you have created a
My Disney Experience account. Then, check the
Special Offers for the dates of your visit.
My suggestion is to search for a
vacation package with theme park tickets and resort hotel. Also consider adding one of the
Disney Dining Plans. As you search for a vacation package, it might help for you to review the resort hotels in the
Disney Resorts Collection. My family loves
deluxe and deluxe villa resorts because of the range of dining options and other amenities they offer. A few of our favorites include Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Both of these resort hotels are within walking distance of Magic Kingdom.
When we are not using our Disney Vacation Club (DVC) membership, we also love a few resort hotels that have typically been more budget-friendly. Disney's Pop Century and Disney's Art of Animation Resorts, for example, are super cute and have access to the
Disney Skyliner in addition to Walt Disney World® Bus Service. So, start reviewing those resorts, check out the dining options and amenities at each, and then do some price comparisons. Also remember that Special Offers may not be available for all resorts.
Once you have the resort hotel identified, consider how many days of
theme park admission you might need. My family always does at least 4 Day Standard Park Tickets so that we can visit each theme park at least once. At a minimum, I prefer to stay at least five nights so that we can also have at least one full day to relax at the resort hotel.
Finally, review the details of the Disney Dining Plans. My family loves the Disney Dining Plan. I always do the math to make sure it's a good deal for us. We identify the restaurants where we want to dine, everybody picks an entrée and we estimate how much our meals would cost separately, keeping in mind that select beverages are included on a dining plan.
Nick, I hope this helps you get started! Looking at your arrival date, I suggest that you book that vacation package as soon as possible. And, of course, I hope you have considered
Disney's Fairytale Weddings & Honeymoons. Almost two years ago I attended the wedding of a friend at the Walt Disney World® Resort. It was simply stunning. Sending some extra pixie dust trusting that your vacation and wedding planning will be
practically perfect in every way!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
