My fiancé and I are getting married and honeymooning in Disney, I put my new name on my ticket - not my maiden. Do I need to change it since it won’t match my Id or can I leave it? And if I have to or should change it how do I do that?

    Hi Nicole,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I was a Disney Bride too and my honeymoon truly was a magical experience. The good news is that there are lots of other brides who are itching to use their married names for the first time during their honeymoon… but their photo identification hasn’t quite caught up to their married status, yet! If you explain the situation to the Cast Member at Guest Relations when you pick up your Theme Park Tickets, you should be good to go, even if the name on your ticket doesn’t quite match the name on your identification.

To be on the safe side, I would bring a picture of your wedding certificate or whatever documentation you filed after your wedding to “prove” that this is your new married name.

Don’t forget to add an extra touch of Magic to your vacation by visiting the Disney Honeymoons section of the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings site. You can even start a Disney Honeymoon Registry so that your friends and family can help make your honeymoon a dream come true.

And please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

Have a Magical Day (and wedding, too),

    Lynne
