My fiancé and I just got engaged and we are celebrating our engagement during our trip to WDW in June! I wanted to note on our reservation that we are celebrating our engagement but I only saw “Wedding” as an option. Would that be okay? Thank you!

Hi there, Katie, and congratulations on your engagement! This is such an exciting time for you, and there's no better place to celebrate than Walt Disney World. Many moons ago, I also celebrated my engagement in The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I love that Disney World plays such an important role in my love story. I'm honored to help you make some magic on your upcoming visit, so let's jump right in!

Unfortunately, you're correct that the booking process doesn't include "Engagement" as an option for special occasions. Just like you, I got engaged just a few months before our trip to Disney World, and we couldn't wait to celebrate with a healthy dose of pixie dust! I remember running into the same issue as you are. I wanted to shout our good news from the rooftops, but none of those special occasion options quite fit our situation. So let me tell you about what to do instead!

First of all, be sure to stop by the front desk upon arrival, and let a Disney Cast Member know that you're newly engaged. They'll give you customized buttons to let everyone know you're celebrating, so be sure to wear them throughout your travels in Disney World! In my experience, those buttons garner lots of well-wishes from Cast Members and from even other guests. And sometimes, they even attract a bit of extra pixie dust!

Katie, if you're planning to enjoy any table-service restaurants during your stay, here's another tip for you. About 20 minutes before your dining reservation, use your My Disney Experience app to check into the restaurant. During the mobile check-in process, you'll have the chance to let the restaurant know that you're celebrating a special occasion! While "Engagement" isn't an option, you can select "Other" instead. I highly suggest doing this for every table-service meal, since Cast Members are usually happy to add some extra magic to your visit!

Before I let you go, I'd love to recommend a few more ways to commemorate your engagement in Disney World. One is a special dinner reservation at a Signature Dining restaurant like California Grill, Monsieur Paul, or the Michelin-starred Victoria & Albert's Restaurant at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Another great idea is a magical photo session that's full of Disney magic! With Capture Your Moment, you'll get save-the-date-worthy photos straight out of a fairytale. While you can pick and choose your favorites to purchase, you'll get all of your photos at no extra cost if you've purchased Disney's Memory Maker service.

I hope this information is helpful, Katie, and that your upcoming visit is full of romance and magic! If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find me right here at planDisney!

    Wishing you all the best,

    Allison
