Hey Jess!
Welcome to planDisney. Thank you for reaching out to me with your question, and a big congratulations on your engagement! It is such an exciting time, and I love that you are planning to celebrate your big day at
Walt Disney World Resort.
My husband and I got married at
Paddlefish in
Disney Springs last October. It was perfect for us, as we wanted a small and relaxed ceremony.
Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings does not include Paddlefish as a venue, so we booked directly through a third-party provider. At the time of writing, ceremonies are available Monday to Thursday at 10 am, and the venue takes bookings up to 18 months in advance. A quick search online for “eloping in Orlando” will bring up many vendors, and you will find plenty of reviews to help you choose the right one.
We had a lot of fun planning Disney touches for the day to make it really special for us and our Guests. We are big fans of the Disney Water Parks, so we reserved a
Beachcomber Shack at
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. It worked really well as it is just across the road from Disney Springs. After the ceremony, our Guests went straight there while we had our wedding photos taken. Then we joined them, changed into our swim gear, and by lunchtime we were splashing down Mayday Falls.
That evening, we all headed back to
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, where we were staying, and surprised our Guests with a
Specialty Fireworks Cruise. It left from the dock at Wilderness Lodge and took us across Bay Lake before stopping on Seven Seas Lagoon for a view of Happily Ever After. We even had a great view of the Electrical Water Pageant. It was really an unforgettable day!
There are lots of ways you could add some Disney magic to your wedding day plans. You might have a favourite restaurant on property that you could book for yourself and your Guests, or even a favourite attraction in the Disney Parks that you would love to ride together as a group. One thing to keep in mind is that there are restrictions on where wedding attire can be worn, so it is a good idea to check the dress code before finalising your plans.
Thank you for your question, Jess. It has been great to take a moment to reflect on my own wedding day, and it gave me the perfect excuse to go through all our photos again. I hope this has helped give you an idea of what a wedding at Disney Springs can look like. If you have any further questions about this or Disney Destinations around the world, please
reach out to me. I'd love to help!
See ya real soon!
