Hey there Joseph and welcome back to planDisney. Walt Disney loved trains. He loved them so much that he even built his own 2615-foot railroad in his backyard called the Carlwood Pacific Railroad and a train was in the original plan for Disneyland circumnavigating the theme park.
The Walt Disney World Railroad is one of my favorite attractions because it makes me think of Walt and it is a nice way to travel from one part of
Magic Kingdom Park to another.
Disney’s The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour was discontinued years ago likely due to the construction involved with TRON Lightcycle / Run and the pandemic. In fact, The Walt Disney World Railroad got back on track in late December 2022 after shutting down in December 2018. I suggest you follow the
Disney Parks Blog, the
Events and Tours landing page, and the
Enchanting Extras Collection landing page for updates.
planDisney Pro Tip: If you are looking to pull back the curtain on the "how do they make that Disney Magic" then sign up for
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour and the
Behind the Seeds Tour. Wow!
Joseph, I am right there with you hoping for Disney’s The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour to return soon. It is awesome to see the engines and learn how the conductors run those beautiful machines. Please feel free to
write me back directly with any follow-up questions and stop by planDisney again for more Disney vacation tips.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
