I have a few questions about a split stay between AOA and Polynesian. Since check out is at 11 and check in is at 3, what are odds a room would be ready early? Best way to get from one to the other? How quickly can you expect to receive luggage transfer?

    Welcome to planDisney, Kevin!

Thank you for stopping by with your very first question. Nothing makes us happier than helping a fellow Guest plan a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

I am excited to hear you will be our Guest at not only one but two Disney Resorts Collection hotels. I am a big fan of split stays! They allow me to experience different Disney Resort hotels during the same visit and make me feel like I am going on separate trips on the same vacation.

I have had different experiences while transferring from one Disney Resort hotel to another. On some occasions, our room at the second hotel was ready early in the day and other times it was ready past check-in time, especially during busy times of the year. I recommend planning according to check-in time, but be flexible because sometimes housekeeping can take a bit longer to do their magic if the hotel is busy. Remember to check in online in advance to receive messages and notifications informing you when your room is ready. You can also check your room number in the My Disney Experience mobile app and use the Unlock Your Room Door feature to enter your room.

I think the best way to get from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is by using Disney complimentary transportation. You can take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then board a water launch or take the monorail to Disney’s Polynesian Village. However, if you are in a hurry to start enjoying your stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and do not mind paying for transportation, I highly recommend traveling in style with Minnie Van service.

As for luggage transfer, it is my personal experience that it can take several hours for bags to get to your next Disney Resort hotel. In our recent visits, Bell Services at our first resort picked up our bags in our room early in the morning, and they arrived at our second resort late in the afternoon. There isn’t a specific time you can expect your luggage to arrive, so I recommend keeping important items with you, like MagicBands, medication, portable chargers and power banks, a second change of clothes, a bathing suit if you are planning to enjoy the pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and personal documents.

planDisney tip: Contact Bell Services at your first Disney Resort hotel to confirm what time they will pick up your luggage on the morning of the transfer.

I hope this information is helpful, Kevin! Come back to visit us if you have additional questions, and have a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Best Disney wishes,
    Thiana
