Hi. I have a few questions about POR. Are any of the rooms in the Magnolia Mansion considered a Standard price room? Is there a site that can teach me about the bus schedule - how often, where they go, etc. And does it cost to ride the monorail? TIA!

    Hi Stacy!

You're going to love Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort.

You are indeed able to book a 'standard' room and be located in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort.  If you book a standard room online,  call a Cast Member at (407) 939-7675 and simply ask to have a note added to your reservation requesting that your room be in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort. Notating a request such as this on your file doesn't necessarily guarantee it will be available upon check-in, but it certainly increases your chances of getting just what you want! Cast Members at the resort will do their very best to fulfill your requests upon room assignment. I always recommend asking again at check-in just to be sure!

There are four bus stops around POR. Bus transportation for the four parks, Downtown Disney & the water parks generally arrive every 15-20 minutes on average. You'll find that you'll be able to be at one of the bus stops within no more than about a 4-minute walk from your resort room location. You can also get to Downtown Disney by taking the boat down the Sassagoula River, which is an enjoyable journey to make at least once during your stay! You can find a map of the resort, including bus stop locations, on the allearsnet.com website, a non-Disney affiliated fan site which includes great, detailed resort information.

Last but not least ... it costs nothing to ride the monorail! Any guest visiting the Walt Disney World parks can ride this 'highway in the sky' as often as you wish. Monorail transportation goes to and from Epcot via the Transportation and Ticket Center and a separate monorail line runs around the Seven Seas Lagoon servicing Magic Kingdom and the 3 Deluxe Resorts around the lagoon.

Wishing you a simply Magical time on your Walt Disney World vacation Stacy!
