A few questions in one oops! Can you buy a disney world gift card and use it in sit down restaurants? If so how can i purchase one and how can i gift this? thanks in advance :) x

Welcome to planDisney Emma! Thanks for coming to us with your questions. We can help you with these questions to help.

I love this idea! Gift cards are always awesome to use to give for someone's next Walt Disney World vacation. I also use them to budget our spending on food and souvenirs. One of my favorite panelists Louise A. has helped many guests overseas find ways to budget for Disney while not stateside. A mobile bank is an option many travelers use to save and get gifts from family members. A quick online search may lead you to an option you can start before your visit starts. Louise also mentioned she has been able to link the mobile bank to her My Disney Experience App. Unfortunately, you will not be able to purchase Disney Gift Cards as gifts without being in the states. Those gift cards are redeemable at most table-service restaurants. Always ask your cast member at your restaurant of choice before you sit down to make sure the method of payment you have is accepted.

I hope this information is helpful for planning your visit. If you have any other questions before your visit please drop us a line at

    Have a magical day!
