Hi Shannon, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
There is no question that the Walt Disney World Resort covers a lot of ground. Nearly 40 square miles to be exact. The good news is that Disney provides numerous forms of
complimentary resort transportation to help guests get around property, and you don’t have to be staying at a Disney Resort hotel to ride. From its sleek, highway in the sky monorail system, fleet of ferryboats and water taxis, and air-conditioned bus service connecting guests between all Resort hotels and the parks, waterparks, and Disney Springs, Disney’s got you covered.
With regard to your specific question, you will most certainly be able to ride the monorail to
Disney’s Contemporary Resort for your dining reservation. When entering the monorail from either the Magic Kingdom park or the Ticket and Transportation Center, be sure to get on the Resort Monorail line as there are two distinct monorail lines servicing these areas. The Express Monorail line provides direct service between the Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center (located adjacent to Magic Kingdom parking) and will bypass all resort hotels along the loop. The Resort Monorail services not only the Magic Kingdom and Ticket and Transportation Center, but also stops at all three Disney Resort hotels along the loop, including
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort,
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Wishing you a magical vacation and happy travels,
Trish
