Disabled person on Kilimanjaro Safari

    A few friends and I are planning to go to Disney World Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom at the beginning of next month but I have a Rheumatoid Arthritis, and have difficulty standing for long periods of time. Is there any accommodation for this?



    Hello, Melissa! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by. I am so happy to hear that you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World with your friends later this summer! You must be so excited. 

    Many helpful services and access options are available for Guests with mobility disabilities all around the Disney Parks! In fact, the Walt Disney World website conveniently outlines all attractions according to access category. You’ll notice that access category is grouped according to which attractions allow boarding with ECV or wheelchair and which ones require transfer. You may want to consider renting an ECV if you have not already done so, as this may limit strain on your body and allow you to enjoy your day to the absolute fullest! ECVs can be rented within the Theme Parks or at Disney Springs, or you may choose to rent from a local preferred provider in the Orlando area. Be sure to check out the Guide For Guests with Disabilities, available at each Theme Park, and do not hesitate to contact the Disability Services department with any further questions or needs you may have!  You can reach them at (407) 560-2547 or by email at disability.services@disneyparks.com.
