Hi fellow BritishColumbian! 1st trip Aug 24-Sep7 & hoping for free DD. Shud I book myself (worried phone will be busy if code released) or better to use a US Disney agent to apply code? Can't find agent in Van specializing in WDW only-any recommendatio

    Hi Debi,

I love the free dining offer that Disney comes out with and although there is never a guarantee from year to year that this amazing deal will be offered again, historically it has been offered for quite a few consecutive years now. I would not specifically plan my dates around the "norm" of past dates offered, but if you happen to want to travel during those months then I would make my reservations now and if it is offered I am confident that the great folks at WDW would accommodate a change to your reservation in order to include the free dining offer. I have done this a few times in the past and have never had any problems but it is based on certain criteria of the promotion offered which must be met as well as availability.

Historically, this offer is announced in early Spring  (usually Disney Visa Card holders are able to have an earlier start than other guests to book this deal first) up to sometime in June when this promotion did end for booking purposes. You also had to travel sometime later in August towards the end of September. There are certain limitations such as a minimum and maximum number of nights stay required at a participating WDW Resort as well as at least a one-day Magic Your Way ticket per person and it could not be combined with any other discounts or special offers. There is a limited availability of rooms for this promotion and the "Value" Resorts seem to be the first ones to be booked full.  With that said, I have had luck in the past, even up to 1 month into the promotion to still secure the free dining offer for a "Value" Resort. I really don't think it makes a difference if you book through an agent in the States versus Canada. I always book my vacations directly through Walt Disney World (just give them the code and they will do their best to secure you a room based on availability). keep your eyes open for the release date and as soon as possible, call and try from there is my best advice!

    Best wishes,
