    Fellow Hoosier I've seen the stuff about themed cakes, ? is son turns 10 and is an animal nut plan on DSFB @ TH then somewhere else for lunch or dinner what can they do with cake animal wise and where would be a good dinner spot @ AK or AKL

    Hi Erika....sorry it was a day or so but I wanted to make sure I got the correct information to you before answering your question!

    You son will love having his breakfast at Donald's Safari Breakfast in the Animal Kingdom park.  It is one of my favorite character dining experiences on property.  My suggestion is to spend the day in the park and then catch the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus and have dinner at this wonderful resort.  It will allow your son to see more animals that graze continuously on the savannahs around the resort.  There are two wonderful restaurants there at this time, Jikos and Bomas.  Jikos is a signature dining event and although it has a children's menu it is more of an adult atmosphere then its counter part, Bomas.  Bomas is a wonderful and very popular buffet style restaurant in the Lodge.  A new location called Sanaas is opening in May and will be in the villa area.

    Please call the cake hotline, 407-827-2253, to order a cake which will be able to be delivered to any of the three restaurants mentioned above. They will need at least a 48 hour notice of the order and an additional 2 days if you want something more customized.  You can choose from two flavors with about five choices of fillings and icings.  When calling the number above you will be asked for a location and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is "press 8".  Then "press 4" for Bomas or Jikos.  This will connect you to private dining at this location.  Discuss with the cast member your wishes for the cake.  If you feel you would like something very customized they will direct you to the chef to see if it is possible.

    It sounds like such a great birthday for your son.  For any animal lover the Animal Kingdom park and Lodge are the place to be to celebrate on their special day!
